The Southwest
Marine/Aquatic Educators’ Association (SWMEA) is
looking forward to seeing you in Monterey for
NMEA 2009: One World Conserving One Ocean. We
invite you to attend a festive night of fundraising
and fun on Wednesday, July 1. The
event will feature both silent and live auctions, as
well as drawings and a live performance by local
favorites, the Banana Slug String Band! Boogie down, outbid your friends, and have a blast
while raising money to support and replenish the
NMEA Scholarship Program.

NMEA Chapter Basket
Challenge!
The members of the
Southwest Marine/Aquatic Educators’ Association (SWMEA)
challenge all NMEA regional chapters to provide a
basket that represents their chapter and region.
Baskets should have a value of $50 - $100 and will
be entered in the Silent Auction. The basket that
earns the highest bid during the Silent Auction will
win a special NMEA 2009 prize! If you have
questions about the Chapter Basket Challenge,
